Sweet mother of God, I loved this movie. I honestly think it's my favorite yet! The screenplay was terrific, the acting was brilliant, and it made my heart jump up and down throughout it. I loved the mix between English, French and German (and sometimes Italian) that continuingly surrounded the movie, and whenever there was a bit of a rough scene I couldn't help laughing thanks to Brad Pitt's character. The way the situations kept differing and the climax kept growing and growing and it ended up perfectly. Well done, Quentin Tarantino, definitely among my favorites!
Nominations: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz), Best Director (Quentin Tarantino), Best Original Screenplay (Quentin Tarantino), Best Cinematography (Robert Richardson), Best Film Editing (Sally Menke), Best Sound Editing (Wylie Stateman), Best Sound.
Predictions: Even though I think it'll be going to Avatar, I would love Inglourious Basterds to win Best Picture. I really, really enjoyed it, and the acting and editing was brilliant! I would love to watch Quentin Tarantino win Best Director, but I don't think it'll be going to him with James Cameron and the acclaimed Kathryn Bigelow also in the run for it. I do want him to win Best Original Screenplay! And I'm positively sure that Best Supporting Actor will be going out to Christoph Waltz, what. a. role, loved him! So, to sum up, I want the Basterds to win Best Picture (although it won't), Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing. And maybe Best Director.
Next up: A Serious Man
Bisou, bisou *

I have decided to READ all of your Oscar posts, but only to comment on the movies I've watched. So yeah, saw this. I thought it was good, but it didn't quite live up to the expectations. If I had been watching it, and hadn't previously heard how awesome it was, I would have liked it more. People talk things up too much :(
