BEDA #5 - Sports

(Photo found here)

I'm a couch potato, I will admit that. I hate running and exercising, which probably isn't a good idea.

I practiced karate and ballet when I was young but I dropped out. I've always been a slacker in school when it comes to PE, but I think I'm much better and I think I'm improving. At least I'm not that scared of the ball anymore whenever it swoops towards me while playing volleyball. I have been playing badminton and I genuinely love it!

Some people already know this, but since it's sport-related I'll tell you anyway. I can't ride a bike. I do feel ashamed. I'm trying to change that this Summer, I'll keep you posted on that.

My favorite sports are basketball and baseball. I do like playing those, but I'll just sit down if you ask me to play football (soccer) or handball or... tennis.

I hate playing football (again, soccer), but as you probably know it's pretty popular over here in Europe. And the World Cup is coming up (unfortuantely I'll be doing an exam during one of the our first games)! Although Portugal is useless this season, but we'll see, maybe we can make it far. Or not. But anyway, I love watching football. And sadly, I've never been to any game, I always see them on TV - which is stupid considering I live about twenty minutes away from, like, three football stadiums.

The European Cup back in 2004 really shook me up. We got to the final and we lost against those greek basterds. I can't describe the emotions I felt (and every other Portuguese person) during that championship. The streets were packed every time we won a game and it does unite us as a country, it's a beautiful thing to experience. It was the first time a championship was held in our country and we made it to the freaking final! But yeah, the greeks had to ruin it. Yes, I did cry at that last match. Me and so many other people.

A little update: I remained truthful to my previous blog post, I was on the Wii Fit Board today! Hopefully I'll continue to do that for... hmm, forever?

Until tomorrow! Oh, and I thought the picture I chose was very appropriate since it's a sport mixed with Paris. What better blog to use it, right?

Tomorrow's theme: History of Hairstyles.

Bisou, bisou *

  1. ok it's soooo weird that you said that bike thing today, because I was just (as in like 10 min ago) rereading Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessan.

Which if you've read you'll understand why it's weird if not...you'll think I'm weird :)

I think you'd be surprised just how many people don't know how to ride a bike....I myself haven't ridden in years and years
