BEDA #2 - Music

Ahh, music, such an amazing subject and state of being. It can make you cry, laugh, feel good about yourself, find someone who knows how you feel, anything, really. I got my love for practically every music genre from my Dad. He's a music passionné and he can play any instrument he puts his hands on, a quality that I, however, did not gain.

I listen to everything, from Justin Bieber to Rammstein to Lily Allen and back to Miley Cyrus (seeing her live in 57 days!). It all depends on my mood. If I'm happy, I listen to Disney stars or 16-year-old guys who look like they're 13-year-old kids (but I love him). If I just feel like rocking out, I listen to Green Day. Or Blink 182! I can listen and sing along to boy bands or to AC/DC, one of my favorite bands.

You can find anything on my iPod (speaking of which, I've had it for four years now, it's still working but it's slowly quiting on me, the basterd). Name it, it's there. The only genre I really hate, though, is metal. Can't stand it. Shouting is not singing, thank you very much. I can stand Metallica. Kind of.

I'm passionate about jazz. A few weeks ago I blogged about Melody Gardot and Madeleine Peyroux, two singers I've known for less than a month but they're already two of my favorites. You can add Diana Krall, Oscar Peterson and Norah Jones on that list, too.

Now, my favorite artist(s). John Mayer all the way. I love that man (watching him live in 49 days!). I love his sound and his lyrics, I can really relate to them. Yes, he can be that obnoxious and self-absorbed guy, but I understand him and I don't think he is that way. Michael Bublé, ah, you melt my soul. Amy Winehouse. Jack Johnson. Joss Stone. Carla Bruni. James Morrison. The Beatles. Michael Jackson. My favorite portuguese singers are Ana Moura, Sara Tavares and Rui Veloso, check them out.
