Season finales (Spoiler alert!)

Now, take Supernatural. What the F*#K happens after that white light ?! I was genuinely surprised when it was finally revealed that Ruby, after all, was "the most faithful demon". What a bitch! I bet Sam and Dean are just going to face the apocalypse and save that day as usual. Which isn't a disappointment, because I wouldn't want my Dean hurt, haha. I liked that Castiel action at the end, as well. Castiel, you bad ass.
I started to feel that it was getting a bit ridiculous when angels and God started to appear in the whole story, but it wouldn't make much sense if only demons existed, and they put it quite nicely. They didn't portray angels as the most wonderful and kind creatures in the world, I liked that.
Supernatural Season 5 airs: September 2009

Now, take Gossip Girl. I never thought Gossip Girl as a shocking show. The books, yes. The TV show? Nah, not really. It's just a show in which I like the characters - although they're nothing like the ones in the books - and the clothes they wear and the fact that it's in New York City. Yay, now Georgina is going to be the new enemy of Ex-Queen B - how exciting. Nate, Serena, Dan - nothing interesting there. Well, Serena is going to find her dad, that might be interesting. I do find interesting what's Jenny going to be like as the new queen, if she actually abolished the high school "monarchy"; if Chuck and Blair will actually hit it off aaand if Rufus and Lily do too. I loved the episode with the flashbacks, it was my absolute favorite of the whole season! I'm excited how it's going to be - Gossip Girl following everyone to college. I actually heard rumours that they cancelled GG - so not true. Right?
Gossip Girl Season 3 airs: August 31st 2009

And, finally, take One Tree Hill. First of all, it's so ridiculous for Chad Michael Murray and Hilary Burton to leave the series. I mean, wtf?! It's so unnecessary. He's the main character, it doesn't make any sense. But whatever - I loved the ending of this season. Finally, no ending that envolves Dan getting run over by a car or almost dying in a fire or whatever happens to him at the end of each season as the big "shocking" finale. I cried most of the time, especially with Nathan getting into the NBA, Peyton surviving and having Sawyer - which is a horrible name for a girl, btw - , Brooke finally saying she loved Julian, etc. etc.. And . . . what can happen now? Dan can finally die or get his heart and be accepted into his son's lives again. Brooke and Julian . . . I don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait and see - as usual.
One Tree Hill Season 7 airs: August 31st 2009
Two weeks from now, The Hills' finale is up - but no shocking season finale there, it's just a reality show, no stories and make believe there (cof cof). And I'm sure there are plenty of other tv series such as Desperate Housewives, House, Grey's Anatomy, etc., that I'm not referring to because I have only seen them randomly, but I will see all the seasons eventually.

13th May - A religious phenomenon

Today is the 13th May. It's the 92nd anniversary of the day that three young shepards (really young. Children.) said they saw the Virgin Mary in Fátima, a city here in Portugal.
Every year there's a large torch-light procession in honor of the Virgin Mary, which is organised in the evening, and it's pretty impressive. The pilgrims gather in the Cova, on a huge space in which is built a little chapel where the Virgin is believed to have appeared to the children.
Fátima attracts a large number of Catholics, and every year pilgrims fill the country road that leads to the city with crowds that approach one million on May 13 and October 13, the significant dates of Fátima apparitions.
May 13th was when the children first saw the Virgin Mary. The Miracle of the Sun is an alleged miraculous event witnessed by as many as 100,000 people on the 13th October 1917 in the Cova da Iria fields near Fátima, Portugal. Those in attendance had assembled to observe what the Portuguese newspapers had been ridiculing for months as the absurd claim of the three shepherd children that a miracle was going to occur at high-noon in that same place, at that same time.
According to many witness statements, after a downfall of rain, the dark clouds broke and the sun appeared as an opaque, spinning disk in the sky. It was said to be significantly less bright than normal, and cast multicolored lights across the landscape, the shadows on the landscape, the people, and the surrounding clouds. The sun was then reported to have careened towards the earth in a zigzag pattern, frightening some of those present who thought it meant the end of the world. Some witnesses reported that their previously wet clothes became "suddenly and completely dry."
When my mom was ten years old (who, incidentally, is called Fátima), she went to Fátima and spoke to people who said they saw this same Miracle.
I don't know what to make of this everytime this day or October 13th arrives. When it comes to religion, I prefer not to express my opinion, because I'm not certain of anything, just like everyone else in the world.
There are lots of movies about this true story, I recommend this movie if you're interested (it's in Portuguese, but I'm sure there are one or two in English).
I just wanted to share this little fact about today.

First days of May
According to police, the attack was deliberate. Allegedly, the man had told rescue workers immediately after the incident that his target was the royal family.
